Chain id 43114 sells AVAX. Chain id 1 buys ETH. Pasting the placeholder into either explorer does not open a token contract. If the wallet is still on Avalanche while you look for the result, you are watching the coin you sold. Switch to Ethereum before you decide the credit failed. The X-Chain is a third place, and it is the wrong one.

Keep a C-Chain remainder

No. WETH is 0xC02aaA39b223FE8D0A0e5C4F27eAD9083C756Cc2, an ERC-20. This route delivers native ETH on the account. A pool that accepts only the WETH contract will not see the balance until you wrap it on Ethereum. That wrap is separate and costs a little of the ETH you just received.
