How to swap the same ticker on multiple chains
Written by XAUConnect Labs · Reviewed against live product behavior · Updated August 2026
Searching “PEPE” or “USDC” on two chains and swapping both is how people accidentally buy two assets. The same ticker is not a multi-chain balance. This guide is the operational habit: one chain at a time, addresses from a list you trust, and a bridge only when the issuer actually connected those contracts.
XAUConnect will quote whatever contract you select on the selected chain. It will not warn you that a Base memecoin is unrelated to an Ethereum memecoin unless you notice the addresses differ — you have to look. Treat the chain selector as part of the token’s name.

Frequently asked questions
XAUConnect showed the right logo. Is the token safe?
Logos are copied. Addresses are not. Paste and compare.
Can I swap my Ethereum token using the Base ticker page?
No. Different contract. Bridge if a real route exists, or sell on Ethereum.
Why do prices differ across chains for USDC?
Local pools, local demand, and sometimes different contracts. Native USDC should hug a dollar; thin wrappers may not.
Is this the same as multi-hop?
No. Multi-hop is several pools on one chain. Multi-chain is several ledgers.
